In the world of a child, pink brings up the color of balloons swaying in the wind at a party, or perfectly positioned bows in two pigtails, but does it have to?
As a color it represents calm, and peacefulness. As a counselor, I associate it with a calming effect, one that brings warmth and happiness. It is gender neutral, a color that anyone can wear and feel happy. Pink can make anyone happy, whether you feel that you can wear a dress and high heels or not.
From where I sit, day in and day out, pink makes any child I see as a therapist happy, and that is what I hope any person struggling with an issue can walk away with.
